INSTALLATION TIMING
For one reason or another many people wait until the last minute to think about getting a Floor Medallion. Although
it's nice to install an Inlay when the new floor goes down, the Inlays can easily be installed long after the flooring
project is completed. Fifty percent of clients have existing flooring and pop the inlays in with no finishing of their
floors at all. So don't think you have to accept a stock inlay just to have the floor medallion the day of your install.
Purchase based on what you want and quality. Ten years from now the extra time you waited to get the inlay you
love won't mean much. Ask the installer about this and if they disagree have them call me, they may not be familiar
with floor inlay installation. I have an 8-12 week wait list due to my reputation for quality. "Picture" Inlays can take
even longer.

A LITTLE ABOUT WHAT I DO
I specialize in giving the discriminating client custom "One of a Kind" floor Inlays designed specifically for the
space. This stops having to "buy off the rack" and allows you to get exactly what you want. I also design & create
very detailed "picture" Inlays for the higher budget projects.
First, I design the medallion and suggest the wood species. After you approve the woods and their placement I
choose specific pieces, grain direction and texture and implement them in a way to make each Inlay a work of art.
Two medallions using the same species wood can look totally different depending on how the craftsman works
them into the design. I can purchase the woods for you, but many clients provide their own wood for at least one
shape so the Inlay has an exact match. Using actual flooring from the space in the Inlay prevents the piece from
looking like it was installed as an afterthought and gives it that truly custom feeling. After all the design details
have been worked out I personally craft the inlay in my home shop using basic power and hand tools.

no lasers or CNC machines. Like a piece of nice
furniture there is an organic feeling a hand made
piece exudes that a machine can not duplicate. A
computer just can not add the character I believe
my floor medallions have. I work on commissioned
pieces only and do not make a bunch of cookie
cutter medallions to keep on hand. Although the
web site lists only a few basic styles I can create
anything you can describe or design. The basic
designs on the "all inlays" page are ideas for you to
expand upon or completely change.
